HempTrain™ Advanced Processing Plant
CGT’s state-of-the-art, patent-pending, HempTrain™ Advanced Hemp Processing Plant is a complete hemp processing platform. The HempTrain™ is capable of efficiently separating baled hemp feedstock into specified high-value fractions; including a high-CBD fraction, green microfiber, bast fiber, hurd, and seeds. Whether quality or attainable fractions, HempTrain™ is decidedly not conventional. HempTrain™ enables access to high-value, multi-billion dollar markets, while drastically reducing capital and operating costs at each step of hemp processing. Learn more >>
CGT Bale Opener
The CGT Bale Opener, unlike conventional openers, has been engineered specifically for the hemp. It’s patent-pending design allows it to withstand the unique rigors of long, high tensile strength hemp fiber (avoiding wrapping and clumping) without damage to the fiber. It is also, very importantly, engineered to minimize the destruction and loss of green material and the bio-nutrients it contains, while ensuring the hemp remains intact, structural, and undamaged to be further processed into high-value products.
The CGT Bale Opener can automatically open any standard square or round hemp bale, dry or fresh/green, whole plant or leaves. With an operational window of 5’ x 6’x 8’ (1.5m x 1.8m x 2.4m), the CGT Bale Opener does not require any alignment of hemp stalks to separate.
The CGT Bale Opener is compatible with the HempTrain™ Advanced Processing Plant.
High-Value Products for High-Value Markets
Conventional decortication (hammer mills, scutchers, etc.) use technology that is, in some cases, over a century old. These mechanisms were designed for destruction of their feedstock, damaging the hemp and causing attrition to both bast and hurd fibers. This action leads to a loss in fiber integrity, and bast fiber cannot therefore be used effectively in contemporary reinforcement applications. This action also reduces the size of all feedstock components, creating a homogeneous mixture that cannot be separated into its constituents.
The HempTrain™ Advanced Processing Plant employs more than a dozen unique, patent-pending technologies (including a proprietary decortication mechanism), that can be used in both dry and fresh/green processing! When processing fresh/green feedstock, HempTrain™ separates out a high-CBD fraction, consisting of the bud leaves, rich in CBD, and excluding sugar leaves and anything longer. The resulting high-efficiency, extraction-ready fraction is not attainable by any other technology. When processing dry feedstock, HempTrain™, produces a green microfiber, long, intact structural bast fiber, clean, size-specified hurd, and seeds; again going above and beyond conventional decortication.
The HempTrain™ Advanced Processing Plant is capable of separating hemp into a high-CBD extraction-ready fraction when processing fresh/green feedstock. This stream, comprised primarily of bud leaves, contains the majority of a plant’s CBD, while being only ~25% of a plant’s biomass. This stream allows processors to dry and extract from a much higher concentration feedstock, reducing their respective capital and operational costs. Read our whitepaper to learn more.
When processing dry hemp feedstock, the HempTrain™ Advanced Processing Plant can aggregate all flower and leaf material into a single green microfiber stream. This stream contains all available bio-nutrients (i.e. cannabinoids, terpenes, etc.), and is ideal for infused products.
The truly state-of-the-art separation capabilities of the HempTrain™ Advanced Processing Plant efficiently separates bast fiber from hurd in a manner that does not damage or destroy fiber bundles, keeping the fiber long (6” to 3’ in length, depending on feedstock) and structurally intact for retention of high tensile strength, required for structural fiber for engineered applications.
The separated hurd, produced by a HempTrain™ Advanced Hemp Processing Plant, is clean, and its sizing can be specified with a narrow size-distribution. With the dry additive mixer included with the HempTrain™ turnkey system, any additive package can be dosed into the hurd stream, enabling final products directly “off-the-line”. The higher-value hurd produces by HempTrain™, opposed to conventional decorticators, allows high-value markets to become accessible including animal litter, food preservation and potting mix, among many others.
